TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating after a person was shot and killed in north Toledo Monday night.
Officers responded to the scene just before 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Cherry Street and Mettler Street.
According to a press release, officers located the victim, 71-year-old Eddie McGlothlin, with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
Around 11:30 p.m. police at the scene told WTOL 11 it was unclear what happened at that time.
Police have not said if anyone is in custody or if there are any suspects.
Multiple detectives and a crime scene investigation unit were also at the scene.
Authorities cleared the scene around midnight and towed a vehicle away.
