BRYAN, Ohio — Two men are at the hospital following an altercation in Bryan that led to an officer-involved shooting, according to the Defiance County Sheriff's Office.
Police say officers were dispatched to the 1,050 block of Ney Williams Center Road in Bryan Sunday morning around 1:50 a.m.
When police arrived at the scene, officers located the stabbing victim, Michael Harris, 43. The suspect, Clarence Thigpen, 38, engaged with officers, and an altercation followed, according to the sheriff's office.
Police say a deputy shot and struck the suspect during the altercation.
Harris was transported to a hospital in Indiana by air ambulance. Thigpen was transported to Bryan Hospital and then transferred to a Toledo hospital by air ambulance as well.
Police say Harris was reported to be in "stable" condition while Thigpen was reported being in "critical, but stable" condition.
Police are investigating the incident and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, as well as the Defiance County Prosecutor's Office, are involved.
The sheriff's office announced it will not release further information until Monday.
