TPD: Suspect robs Dollar General in west Toledo, flees on foot

Crews responded to the location shortly after 5 p.m. on Thursday regarding a robbery in progress.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating after a man allegedly robbed a west Toledo Dollar General Thursday evening. 

Crews were dispatched to the location on the corner of Jackman Road and W. Sylvania Avenue at approximately 5:16 p.m. Thursday in regards to a robbery in progress. 

A store clerk informed officers that a man wearing all black, a black face mask and black gloves entered the store and demanded money from the register. 

According to a police report, the clerk said he did not observe a weapon, but the suspect had his hand in his pocket as though he was armed. 

After taking the money, the suspect then fled northbound behind the store on foot.
