Rossford man indicted for allegedly sending explicit messages to undercover officer posing as 13-year-old

The suspect was arrested in March after allegedly agreeing to meet with the officer, whom he believed was a teen.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Rossford man was indicted Thursday on over a dozen counts after allegedly sending sexually explicit messages to an undercover police officer who was portraying himself as a teen boy.

Christopher Deszell, 37, was indicted on one count of attempt to commit unlawful sexual conduct, four counts of importuning and eight counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

Deszell allegedly sent sexually explicit messages to an undercover Toledo police officer whom the suspect believed was a 13-year-old boy. 

He allegedly agreed to meet with the undercover officer in public at a location in south Toledo in March. Upon arriving at the location, police took Deszell into custody.

Deszell is scheduled for arraignment in Lucas County Court of Common Pleas on July 16.
