TPD: Man exchanges gunfire with suspect after car stolen in central Toledo

Toledo police said the man ran after his vehicle after it was stolen and another suspect at a nearby apartment fired a gun at him before the man returned gunfire.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A man exchanged gunfire with a suspect after his car was stolen in central Toledo Sunday night.

Toledo police said they responded to an apartment complex in the 300 block of Dennis Court for shots fired just before 10 p.m.

According to TPD, a 43-year-old man said he ran after his vehicle after it was stolen when another suspect at a nearby apartment building fired at him. Police said the man returned fire and got into a different vehicle to go after the one that was stolen.

Police said his vehicle was later recovered nearby disabled and unoccupied. No person or structure was hit by gunfire, according to TPD.
