15-year-old shot in south Toledo, police say

The victim was hospitalized in critical condition Friday night. Toledo police indicate that a minor has been booked into Lucas County JJC in relation to the incident

TOLEDO, Ohio — According to Toledo police, a 15-year-old male has been hospitalized after a shooting in south Toledo during the evening hours of Friday, Aug. 16.

The shooting happened just before 7 p.m. on Friday, according to police on scene. The teen was transported to a local hospital and was said to be in critical condition following the shooting.

Specifics surrounding the identity of the teen and his current condition are not known as of Monday, Aug. 19.

A Toledo police sergeant at the scene on Stebbins Street and Prouty Avenue, in a neighborhood between the Anthony Wayne Trail and Broadway Street, said one person has been detained for questioning.

According to a police log, a minor has been booked into the Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center in relation to the incident. No further details have been released at this time.
