Suspect arrested, charged in connection with the murder of Dee Warner in Lenawee County

The family of Dee Warner told WTOL 11 that Dale Warner, her husband, was the one arrested. Dee went missing in April of 2021.

LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. — An arrest has been made in connection with the murder of Dee Warner in Lenawee County, according to Michigan State Police.

The suspect's name was not released, pending an arraignment in the case. Authorities made the announcement on social media Tuesday.

Dee Warner's family has told WTOL 11 that her husband, Dale Warner, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, although it is unclear what charge he is facing.

Michigan authorities do not identify criminal suspects until they have been arraigned.

Dee Warner's brother, Gregg Hardy, told WTOL 11 that her family is relieved to learn of the arrest.

"It's been a long haul, lot of effort by lots people," Hardy said. "This is not the end step. The end step would be conviction, trial. There's a lot of work to do going forward with that."

From the time of her disappearance, Dee Warner's family has pressed authorities to make an arrest in the case.

"They've been very, I guess, for me, not fast enough, but very deliberate in what they've done here," Hardy said of law enforcement.  "Their investigation has been very detailed from my observation and they have done a very thorough job of investigating and putting together all the evidence they've given to the prosecutor."

Michigan State Police have previously said Dale Warner is the only person of interest in Dee's death.

Dee was 52 when she was last seen in the early morning of April 25, 2021, at her residence on Munger Road in Franklin Township. She has not had any contact with her family or friends after she went missing.

The arraignment of the suspect is scheduled for Wednesday.
