Suspect indicted for attempted murder in Sylvania Township double shooting

Sean Landis, 53, was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury on multiple charges Thursday for allegedly shooting two people inside a home last month.

LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — The suspect accused of shooting two people inside a Sylvania Township home in September was indicted by a Lucas County Grand Jury Thursday on multiple charges.

Sean Landis, 53, was indicted on two counts of attempted murder, two counts of felonious assault, one count of aggravated burglary and one count of tampering with evidence.

The Sylvania Township Police Department said Landis, of Bridgeton, New Jersey, was arrested on Sept. 30 in Las Vegas. He was arraigned in Sylvania Municipal Court on Oct. 7 where a judge set his bond at $300,000.

According to police, Landis is a former co-worker of one of the victims.

The victims, who have not yet been identified, called 911 on Sept. 9 to report that a person came into their house in the 4500 block of Crossfields Road near Corey Road and shot them.

Sylvania Township police responded to the home just before 1 a.m. and rendered aid to the two victims inside the home. Police said the victims were hospitalized in serious condition following the shooting.

In a 911 call released by Sylvania Township police, one of the victims explains they've been shot four to five times, including in the face and legs. The same caller said they chased the intruder out of the house.
