ERIE COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — A Terra State Community College Board of Trustees member has resigned from his position after he was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of engaging prostitution.

According to a letter obtained by WTOL 11 from Terra State, board member Timothy Myers, 66, submitted his resignation on Wednesday. Erie County Municipal Court records indicate Myers was charged on Tuesday with engaging prostitution, a first-degree misdemeanor.

In his resignation letter, Myers said the following:

"Due to personal reasons, please accept my resignation from the Terra State College Board of Directors effective today.

It has been a pleasure serving on the Board, and you have made great strides in the College's growth."

Myers was arrested by the Erie County Sheriff's Office Monday, according to the Erie County Jail. He is due back in court on Nov. 4. The sheriff told WTOL 11 more information would be provided Monday. This story will be updated when that information is provided.

Myers, of Fremont, was first appointed to the board by the Ohio Governor's Office - then under former governor John Kasich - in 2018, according to a web page on Terra State's site. While he is no longer listed as a board member on the college's website following his resignation, the page still listed him on Tuesday, stating his term was slated to last until Dec. 30, 2026.

WTOL 11 reached out to Terra State Community College for comment but did not immediately hear back .
