TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo-area basketball player accused of assaulting his girlfriend has been found not guilty by a Lucas County judge.
Chris Darrington was charged with strangulation and domestic violence following an incident in July 2023. The charge of strangulation was dismissed Monday. On Tuesday, a judge found him not guilty of domestic violence in Lucas County Common Pleas court. Darrington had waived his right to a jury trial.
According to court documents, Darrington was accused of assaulting his girlfriend inside a north Toledo home. He was indicted in late October 2023 and pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Darrington played basketball for the Toledo Rockets during the 2018-19 season. He most recently played for the Glass City Wranglers.
