TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo man was arrested for allegedly robbing a bank in west Toledo Monday afternoon.
According to court documents, Hershel Winbush, 68, entered the KeyBank on Secor Road near Central Avenue and handed the teller a note demanding cash and claiming that he had a gun.
Winbush left the location with an unknown amount of money. He was taken into custody a short time later, according to Toledo police.
Court documents state that during an interview with Winbush, he said he committed another bank robbery at the Jeep Federal Credit Union located on East Manhattan Boulevard on April 8.
In that incident, Winbush also handed the teller a note demanding cash and claiming to have a gun. He left with an undisclosed amount of money.
Winbush was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court Tuesday morning on charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 30 at 9 a.m.
