TOLEDO, Ohio — A man accused of shooting and killing a 42-year-old man in west Toledo last month has been found incompetent to stand trial.
According to court records, Hassan Diab, 25, could later become competent to stand trial within one year after being provided with a course of treatment.
Diab is accused of fatally shooting Brian McCoy on Greenway Street near Ottawa Park around 9 p.m. on Oct. 4.
According to police, they responded to the 2600 block of Greenway Street to shots heard in the area. When officers arrived, they found McCoy who had been shot.
McCoy was pronounced dead at the scene and the Lucas County Coroner's Office said he died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
