TOLEDO, Ohio — A Lucas County judge on Friday found a Toledo man not guilty Friday of two murder charges in a 2021 shooting.
Raequan Johnson, 24, was indicted on the charges in 2022 for the shooting deaths of 27-year-old Willie Walker and 23-year-old Elisa Molina at an east Toledo apartment complex.
The dismissal of his charges came after a key material witness did not show up to the trial, according to court documents.
Judge Michael Goulding signed a warrant for the witness' arrest on Thursday after multiple attempts by Toledo police and the state of Ohio to get him to appear in court for testimony failed.
Molina's sister claimed she was in a relationship with Walker and killed in a shooting that was targeting him.
