TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police were involved in a standoff with a barricaded man Wednesday in west Toledo.
Officers responded to the area of Eleanor Avenue and Bennett Road about 10 a.m. to serve a domestic violence warrant. The situation turned into a barricaded person by early afternoon and additional officers were requested.
Toledo police claim the man was in the basement and refused to come out. His partner was concerned he was suicidal.
No weapon was found. The man eventually emerged from the home and was arrested just before 1 p.m.
According to police, there was no imminent threat despite the standoff. The intersection of Eleanor and Bennett was closed during the incident.
