TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo woman was arrested after allegedly leading police on a chase with her child in the backseat on Thursday.
Washington Township police stopped a driver, identified as Rushanique Derden, 32, just before 5 p.m. where she gave information to the officer before fleeing, police said.
According to court documents, the pursuit lasted for approximately three minutes and exceeded speeds of 110 mph. Police said that while fleeing, Derden was found to have her 10-year-old child in the backseat of the car.
The pursuit ended in a crash near the Willys Parkway roundabouts and totaled Derden's vehicle. It is not known if anyone was injured in the crash.
Derden was arrested by Washington Township police and faces 14 charges, including failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and endangering children.
