TOLEDO, Ohio — A woman was hospitalized and a suspect was arrested after a shooting in north Toledo Friday night.
Toledo police told WTOL 11 just before 10:45 p.m. officers responded to a domestic violence call between a man and a woman in a parking lot near the intersection of Lagrange Street and North Erie Street.
When officers arrived, they located a 24-year-old female on the ground with a single gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital by Toledo Fire & Rescue in "critical condition" and was "still alive and breathing," according to police.
According to officers at the scene, a witness said the woman turned to run away from the man, who then pulled out a gun and shot her.
The male suspect fled the area before police arrived but was later found at Locust Street and North Summit Street and was taken into custody.
