NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio — A possible homicide suspect from Michigan was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol following a pursuit on I-75 southbound on Tuesday.
Just before noon, OSHP was advised that Michigan State Police were chasing the suspect, identified as Ronald McLaurin, 33, of Warren, Michigan, on the interstate nearing the state line. Troopers took over the pursuit near Wales Road in Northwood.
According to OSHP, troopers attempted to deploy stop sticks on multiple occasions but were unsuccessful. At approximately 12:15 p.m., McLaurin exited onto State Route 18 and pulled into the Love's Travel Shop in North Baltimore.
The suspect then fled on foot but was taken into custody by troopers and law enforcement, OSHP said. The suspect was driving a Ford Escape that was later determined to be stolen.
McLaurin was medically cleared at a hospital and then booked into the Wood County Jail. He was charged with felonies for failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and receiving stolen property.
