Ohio State Highway Patrol: Truck driver shot on I-71 during alleged road rage incident

The driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

RICHLAND COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — An investigation is underway after an alleged road rage incident resulted in a shooting on Wednesday evening.

Ohio State Highway Patrol officials say that a semi driver was shot by a cargo van driver on Interstate 71 southbound near the Richland/Morrow County line at around 6 p.m.

911 calls reveal that the driver of the cargo van shot at the semi-truck after the truck had allegedly side-swiped him. The victim was shot in the arm and was bleeding heavily following the incident.

EMS officials took the semi-truck driver to a local hospital with minor injuries. 

It is unknown if any arrests have been made in connection to this incident. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
