TOLEDO, Ohio — A 14-year-old was arrested Thursday night and charges are pending for another driver after a pair of separate stolen vehicle police chases in Toledo.
At 10:23 p.m. last night, Toledo Police pursued a vehicle containing five people officers believe was stolen after it took off from a traffic stop at the intersection of Hawley and Buckingham streets.
According to a police report, the vehicle traveled westbound on Woodland and first struck another oncoming vehicle traveling northbound on Hawley, before later striking another parked vehicle on Woodland and came to a stop.
All five occupants were taken to area hospitals for minor injuries. The driver was not identified in the report, but police said charges are pending against that person.
In a separate incident, a 14-year-old was arrested by Toledo police after a brief chase involving another stolen vehicle.
Around 11 p.m. Thursday, police claim a stolen vehicle attempted to escape after being approached.
According to police, the vehicle was disabled after stop sticks were deployed, causing the vehicle to crash into a nearby fence at the intersection of Richards Road and Hill Avenue.
Shortly after, the teenager, also the driver, attempted to flee on foot, but surrendered to arrest by responding officers.
The individual was booked at the Juvenile Justice Center on multiple felony charges.
