Sylvania Township police shared the following post on Facebook Tuesday afternoon:
A message to our residents: We acknowledge that the crime that occurred on Crossfields Road is concerning and upsetting for our community. We also understand that a lack of information is frustrating, but this remains an active investigation in its early stages and we are not able to release any specific information or details related to the case.
We can tell you that we have not had any similar incidents in recent weeks or months in the area of this crime or anywhere else in the Township. It initially appears to be an isolated incident and we do not have reason to believe that the general public is in danger.
We assure you that our Detectives are working very hard to follow up any leads that they possibly can and our patrol officers will continue to heavily patrol the Township.
We will update you as we are able. If you have any information that may be helpful please contact Detective Sergeant Mussery at kmussery@sylvaniatownshippolice.com.
