TOLEDO, Ohio — Two people were sentenced Thursday for charges relating to the homicide of Keshy'ra Robinson, who was shot and killed while sleeping in her home in 2022.
According to court documents, Deangelo Woodson entered an Alford plea in the Lucas County Common Pleas Court Wednesday, pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence. Woodson was originally charged with murder and was indicted in August 2023.
A judge sentenced Woodson to 14 years in prison for Keshy'ra Robinson's death. Woodson was also sentenced to an additional nine years in prison for a felonious assault charge to which he pleaded guilty, making for a total of 23 years from two separate sentences.
A second defendant in the case, Savannah Robinson, entered an Alford plea Wednesday and pleaded guilty to felonious assault. She was sentenced to four years in prison.
According to a Toledo police report, officers were dispatched to a residence on Baden Street in November 2022 at approximately 3 a.m. on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, police located Keshy'ra Robinson suffering from a gunshot wound.
Another occupant of the house said she was awoken by the gunfire and found Keshy'ra unresponsive where she had been sleeping. Detectives determined an unknown suspect had fired into the residence, striking the victim. The Lucas County Coroner's Office ruled her death a homicide from a single gunshot wound to the left side of her head.
