Authorities investigating fatal hit-skip in Wyandot County

WYANDOT COUNTY, Ohio — Authorities are investigating a hit-skip crash that killed one person Monday morning. 

According to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Bucyrus Post, 25-year-old Brady Neifer of Archbold was driving a Nissan Maxima southbound on US 23 in Pitt Township shortly before 6 a.m. A second, unknown vehicle and Neifer's vehicle crashed near Township Road 65, causing the Maxima to travel off the west side of the roadway and come to a stop along the tree line. 

The second vehicle left the scene before authorities arrived. The Wyandot County Coroner pronounced Neifer deceased on the scene.

According to authorities, alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have been a factor in the crash.
