Fulton County jury finds man guilty of involuntary manslaughter in death of 3-year-old girl

Devon Harris, 29, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of endangering children in the August 2022 death of 3-year-old Gemma Thompson.

WAUSEON, Ohio — A Fulton County jury ruled a Wauseon man guilty of three charges in the August 2022 death of a 3-year-old girl.

Devon Harris, 29, was found guilty of two counts of endangering children and one count of involuntary manslaughter on April 11. Harris was ruled not guilty of murder and felonious assault.

Harris was indicted in 2022 following the death of 3-year-old Gemma Thompson, who died as a result of severe injuries that "appeared to be the result of trauma," Wauseon police said at the time.

Police responded to a report of Gemma having seizures on Aug. 2, 2022, when they found her unresponsive, according to court documents. She was hospitalized and pronounced dead two days later.
