Woman allegedly cuts man's face with machete in west Toledo

The 34-year-old woman was charged with felonious assault after allegedly swinging the machete at the man, causing a "very large and deep" cut to his cheek.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo woman was arrested for allegedly cutting a man in the face with a machete on Sunday in west Toledo.

According to Toledo police, they responded to the Ravenswood Apartments on Talmadge Road just before 8:30 p.m. on a domestic argument that "quickly" turned into a person stabbed.

Police said there was an argument between the woman, identified as Christan Johnson, 34 and a man. According to TPD, the man started walking towards the woman's daughter's bedroom which she was standing in front of to prevent the man from entering.

Police said the woman grabbed a machete that was nearby and swung once at the man, causing a "very large and deep" laceration on his cheek.

The man was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, and Johnson was booked into Lucas County Jail and charged with felonious assault.
