TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Davis college is celebrating 160 years of serving the community with it's annual Rock-a-thon.

Now in its fifth year, the Rock-a-thon raises funds for scholarships for our veterans.

Participants rock in rocking chairs for up to 12 hours and collect pledges.

TPD Chief George Kral was at the event as a "celebrity" rocker. He said it's an honor to help raise those funds.

"I'm a veteran so I do everything I can to support veterans and if sitting here for an hour rocking and waving at people helps, I'm all over it," said the chief.

The Rock-a-thon lasted until 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Other rockers included City Councilman Larry Sykes and the president of Davis College, Diane Brunner.

Brunner rocked the entire 12 hours.
