GENOA, OH -- A fire has been contained on Main St. in downtown Genoa Monday morning. Fire companies continue to water hot spots at this time.

Firefighters from nearby communities came in to try and get the blaze under control. They worked in difficult conditions including brutally cold weather and high winds. News 11 has a crew on the scene, and you could see the water actually freezing onto the uniforms of the firefighters. Wind gusts were up to 40 mph. Firefighters had to take shifts to warm up in a nearby fire station while battling the blaze.

It's believed the fire started in a bar-restaurant called Ray and Jett's, then spread through a common ceiling to a cosmetics shop and the Hourglass Lounge. A firewall kept the fire from spreading further.

The call came in at 1:48 a.m. from a burglar alarm going off. There was no one inside the building and no injuries have been reported.
