BGSU, Owens Community College announce partnership to help RN students

This partnership aligns with the Institute of Medicine's initiative that recommends 80 percent of the RN workforce to have a BSN by 2020.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Bowling Green State University and Owens Community College are announcing their new partnership to help registered nursing students Monday 

The announcement for the Transfer Pathway Agreement will take place in the BGSU College of Health and Human Services lobby at 1 p.m.

The agreement is designed to seamlessly transfer credits  nd establishes a pathway from Owens’ Associate of Applied Science in registered nursing to BGSU’s Bachelor of Science in nursing. 

The partnership enables Owens students to complete general education courses for BGSU while taking courses at Owens. Following their associate degree and passing the NCLEX, students can then start to work on their BSN which is possible to be completed in as few as three semesters.
