TONTOGANY, Ohio — Otsego Local Schools Superintendent Kevin O'Shea confirmed to WTOL 11 that they will go back to voters with a ballot request next year.
Voters in the district turned down a 0.50% continuing income tax request in November. Otsego schools will now change that request to a 0.50% income tax for five years, according to O'Shea.
The income tax request will cover the current expenses of the school district and is said to not impact voters' property taxes. Voters in the district will see that request on the ballot on March 19.
According to the Otsego schools website, the last time the district passed a new operational levy was in May of 2002.
