TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Many area residents know that PENTA Career Center offers vocational training for area high school students, but few are aware of the school's adult education program.
The school offers hands-on classes that normally take less than a year to complete. One of the most popular programs is welding. The school says many of those taking classes are doing so to get a better job.
"We have dislocated workers; we have new people coming into the job market that don't have marketable skills. People that want to change for a second career," said Cindy Covington, who works in PENTA's Adult Student Services office.
Classes typically run for nine months and cost at least $3,800. Night courses are held four days a week.
