PENTA accepting applications for adult education classes

Many area residents know that PENTA Career Center offers vocational training for area high school students, but few are aware of the school's adult education program.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Many area residents know that PENTA Career Center offers vocational training for area high school students, but few are aware of the school's adult education program.

The school offers hands-on classes that normally take less than a year to complete. One of the most popular programs is welding. The school says many of those taking classes are doing so to get a better job.

"We have dislocated workers; we have new people coming into the job market that don't have marketable skills. People that want to change for a second career," said Cindy Covington, who works in PENTA's Adult Student Services office.

Classes typically run for nine months and cost at least $3,800.  Night courses are held four days a week.
