TOLEDO -- 49-year-old Danny Brown spent 19 years in prison after a jury convicted him for the strangulation death of Bobbi Russell.
The charge was dropped four years ago after DNA tests showed semen found in the victim belonged to another man.
Through the 19 years in prison, Brown tried to clear his name and prove his innocence. During that time he learned law.
Sunday, he earned a Paralegal Studies Associate Degree from the University of Toledo. "If I can help somebody in some way in the future--to prevent what happened to me--then that's what I want to do," said Brown.
Brown is considering taking more classes and earning a bachelors degree.
