TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - On Saturday, former Toledo Mayor, Carty Finkbeiner plans to announce his plan to rerun for the position this November.
Finkbeiner has invited the public to attend the announcement at 9:30 a.m. at the "Carty Gets the Job Done" campaign headquarters on W Laskey Road.
WTOL has been following the decision for months. Back in May, Finkbeiner said he may consider running for Toledo Mayor once again in November.
At that time, Finkbeiner said it is the future of Toledo that prompted him to think about the possibility, citing technology, the arts, education and alternative energy as vital parts of the city that should be in the forefront.
"Each one of the cornerstones of strengthening our economy and job opportunities for young men and women and their families," he said.
Finkbeiner later confirmed on Aug. 7 that he was collecting signatures for a mayoral run.
