Firefighters have contained a fire sparked in the old Clarion Hotel on Reynolds Road.
The fire began around 11:30 a.m. Sunday on the fourth floor of the abandoned building. According to firefighters on the scene, a passerby smelled smoke and called 911.
The exact cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, however, investigators say they are not ruling out arson.
The 11-story hotel has been abandoned for years. The city of Toledo announced it was looking to demolish the building back in February.
Crews have contained the fire, but heavy smoke is lingering. Heatherdowns and Reynolds Road are blocked off near the building until the scene is cleared.
