OREGON, Ohio (WTOL) - Oregon's former Police Chief Tom Gulch broke his silence on the investigation of officer Jeff Brown and any involvement by his mother Mayor Marge Brown.
Gulch spoke before a packed house at a city council meeting on Monday, Oct. 12.
Gulch says the mayor asked for his resignation while he was investigating her son. As a result of that investigation, Oregon police officer Jeff Brown was suspended earlier for police misconduct. "Yes, I was looking at Jeff Brown," said Gulch, "Mayor Brown knew he was one of the focuses of my investigation, as was Rick Stager, and I was very promptly terminated -- asked to serve a leave of absence."
Mayor Brown declined a request for an interview.
Gulch says he broke his silence because he wanted the truth to come out.
