Several Clyde-Green Springs student athletes exposed to COVID-19

District leaders say the exposure occurred during a non-school related event and the impacted students are in quarantine.

CLYDE, Ohio — Several student athletes at Clyde-Green Springs were exposed to someone who recently tested positive for COVID-19, district leaders say.

The exposure reportedly occurred during a non-school related event in Sandusky.

According to representatives from the Board of Education, those who came into contact with the infected individual are being quarantined and restricted from weight lifting and skill sessions.

Because of this possible exposure, district leaders are asking students and parents to look out for the signs and symptoms of coronavirus for the next few weeks.

If someone in your household does develop symptoms, you are asked to contact your primary care physician.

District leaders say they will continue to screen student athletes for symptoms before entering school facilities. Additionally, strict sanitation protocols are in place and will continue to be followed.

If parents have any questions, they are instructed to reach out to their child's coach or the athletic director, Ryan Greenslade at rgreenslade@clyde.k12.oh.us or at 419-547-9511 ext. 1014.
