TIFFIN, Ohio — Although visitors aren't allowed on Tiffin University's campus right now due to COVID-19 restrictions, the university is still planning to interact with students.
With their commencement completed, Tiffin University now is focusing on next year's Fall Semester.
Along with multiple COVID-19 safety precautions, the fall semester will end on campus classes before Thanksgiving break, and complete testing online.
And to make sure enrollments doesn't see a hiccup this year, the university will host a virtual open house on Friday June 12 where families and prospective students can see a tour of campus, sit in on Q&A sessions, and even have one-on-one conversations with faculty.
"It's also an opportunity for our families and their children to feel safe. Where they can still explore college opportunities, but in an environment today that is a little bit more secure for them," said Lillian Schumacher, president of Tiffin University.
The recent success with online only classes, their virtual commencement ceremony, and now online only registration, president Dr. Schumacher says the university will be looking into continuing this stronger online presence even after coronavirus restrictions are lifted.
"We've actually had conversations about what we can continue to do in the virtual space and just enhance everything that we're doing in terms of recruitment and retention and PR for the institution," said Schumacher
The deadline to register for Friday's Virtual Open House is Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
