TOLEDO, Ohio — One month in to this year's Super Fitness Weight Loss Challenge, competitors are hitting their stride.
One competitor in particular, Dionte Presley, said he is drawing on his experience as a high school athlete to stay focused and continue getting healthier.
This year is Presley's first experience with the Super Fitness Weight Loss Challenge. He said he signed up for the event at the urging of his sister in law.
Host Kelly Heidbreder said finding a motivation is the key to getting the most out of the seven-month challenge.
“That’s the only way it will work,” Heidbreder said. “You have to have something that motivates you and keeps you going. For Dionte, he wants to feel better.”
Presley said the toughest habit he will have to break is overeating. He said he knows it will be hard, but he’s ready to make a life change.
“I'll get through it," he said. "It will be tough. But I will get through it. I played football for Scott High School, so I was in for a little bit. And I walked a lot.”
He knows how to put all of his effort into a workout. What will Dionte look like at the finale in May?
“I want to be a more healthy, strong man," he said.
That's the best motivation of all, Heidbreder said.
“The weight will come off when you are ready to put in the work and dedication it takes to make those healthy life choices," she said.
