TOLEDO, Ohio — A popular Toledo-area post-Halloween tradition is back for another year.
Frankel Dentistry is hosting its annual community "Cash for Candy" event starting Nov. 1. Trick-or-treaters can bring their leftover, wrapped Halloween candy to Frankel Dentistry and receive $1 per pound.
The Halloween candy buyback is a sweet alternative to too much sugar and allows kids to enjoy the fun of dressing up and trick-or-treating without the worry of developing cavities and unhealthy habits, Frankel Dentistry said in its announcement on Monday.
As an added bonus, the candy collection is all for a good cause.
As in previous years, all of the collected Halloween candy is then donated to a local group to be sent to Toledo troops serving overseas. With the community's help, Frankel Dentistry was able to donate over a ton of candy last year and hopes to top that amount this year.
You can stop by either Frankel Dentistry location from Nov. 1-8 for candy collection during business hours.
