TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Have you noticed driving through Toledo has been rather...dark?
Street lights are out and studies from the U.S. Department of Justice show that could lead to more crime and accidents.
Some of the busiest streets in Toledo have the most lights out. The city of Toledo cannot answer why there are so many lights out, because it does not own them, Toledo Edison does.
A Toledo Edison spokesperson said the company policy is to have a light fixed within three days of it being reported. However, some of the lights around Toledo have been out for months.
To report a street light outage, call 1-800-447-3333. You can also fill out a form online. Providing the nearest cross streets with accurate directions is all that's needed.
