WOOD COUNTY, Ohio — The owner of Precious Sea Stables in Lake Township was arrested on Saturday and charged with unlawful restraint, obstructing official business and resisting arrest after an incident she claims happened between her and a customer.
According to Lake Township Police, officers responded to Sarah Collins' property on Ayers Road for a "keep the peace" call. That's all the information the department provided in the incident report.
Collins made bail and was home the same day, according to Wood County Justice Center.
Collins says a customer came to the stables to pick up a horse they were in the process of buying, but she claims they didn't have the money.
Ultimately, Collins said the customer left with the horse and she left in handcuffs with three charges.
However, Collins claims she complied with police during the interaction.
"They ran up behind me and grabbed me," she said. "They knocked me off balance at the end of the driveway. They told me they were leaving and they were done dealing with it. When they knocked me off balance, my arms froze. They were stiff, so that's what they called it (resisting). They can call it whatever they want."
Collins also claims she did not refuse to give the horse to the customer and said she's not worried about the charges against her because she is innocent.
She added that she and her attorney will fight the charges.
The Ohio Secretary of State's Office says Precious Sea Stables is not registered, which is a requirement for any business entity.
