PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) - Apossible expansion could be coming to two local Kroger stores.
There hasbeen talk that the Kroger in Perrysburg could become a marketplace, which wouldinvolve it expanding into what is currently a vacant building nearby.
"Biggerwould be, I guess, OK, because they've started to stop carrying a few thingsbecause it's so small, so maybe they'll expand everything," said RichardMichel, a Kroger shopper.
InBowling Green, Kroger confirmed they've purchased the shopping center next to aKroger on North Main Street. Kroger officials say a possible expansion there isstill in the early stages, too.
"We'rereally excited," said Craig Iagulli, from Perrysburg Floor Covering and Design.
Iagulliand others who work in the area say they think expanding would be great forsurrounding businesses, as well.
"It'llhelp in all kinds of ways, as far as bringing traffic to the area," Iagullisaid. "It already does, having Kroger there, but even moreso now."
Krogersays they are slowly taking steps toward expanding but would not confirm anyplans to take over the former Sears building near the Perrysburg store.
