LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. — One person was killed and another was injured after a two-vehicle crash in Lenawee County on Tuesday afternoon.
The sheriff's office said deputies responded to the intersection of M-52 and Sutton Road in Raisin Township just before 1:30 p.m.
According to the sheriff's office, an 84-year-old Deerfield man was turning south from Sutton Road onto M-52 when he was struck by another vehicle, driven by a 67-year-old woman from the Tipton area, traveling northbound.
The sheriff's office said the 84-year-old man was taken to the hospital following a "lengthy extrication" and was pronounced dead. The 67-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the sheriff's office, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash and both drivers appeared to be wearing seatbelts.
The crash remains under investigation.
