1 killed, 2 injured in Lucas County crash Monday evening

Justin Jeffries, 42, of Toledo, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash about five miles north of Swanton. Two others suffered minor injuries, OSHP said.

LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — One person was killed and two people suffered minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash about five miles north of Swanton in Lucas County Monday evening, according to press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Justin Jeffries, 42, of Toledo, was driving a pickup truck westbound on Frankfort Road at about 7 p.m., did not stop at a stop sign at an intersection and was struck by a vehicle driving northbound on Fulton-Lucas Road, OSHP said.

Jeffries was pronounced dead at the scene. A 22-year-old passenger in his vehicle was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The 48-year-old driver of the other vehicle, an SUV, also suffered minor injuries.
