TOLEDO, Ohio — A 16-year-old was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car on Tuesday evening.
The crash happened on Collingwood at I-75 around 5:45 p.m.
Police say the girl was riding her bike with her friend when the two approached Collingwood and northbound I-75.
Jamal Holmes, 47, was driving in the same location in the curb lane. Traffic had stopped for a red light, but the curb lane had no stopped traffic in it.
Police say as the girl entered the traffic way, the light turned green and Holmes began to speed up, hitting the girl.
She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
