180th Fighter Wing to participate in night flights this week

Weather permitting, the F-16 fighter jets will be taking off and landing from Monday to Thursday until 2:30 a.m. each night

SWANTON, Ohio — The Ohio Air National Guard's 180th Fighter Wing, based in Swanton, is set to conduct night training flights beginning Monday, June 22 trough Thursday, June 25, weather permitting. F-16 fighter jets will be participating in the maneuvers, taking off and landing until around 2:30 a.m.

Residents may hear or see the F-16 jets as pilots participate in their training.

While training flights are usually done during the day, these night training flights are required for both pilots and maintenance personnel for readiness training.
