HURON COUNTY, Ohio — A 16-year-old has died from their injuries after a pickup truck struck their horse-drawn buggy in Huron County on Tuesday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Barbera Rissler was driving the buggy west on Baseline Road in front of the pickup truck driver, a 43-year-old, who OSHP says did not give enough clearance and struck the back of the buggy near New State Road, ejecting Rissler and a 21-year-old passenger of the buggy.

The buggy then went off the side of the road. Barbera and a 21-year-old passenger were ejected and hospitalized in serious condition.

The pickup truck driver was not injured in the crash.

An update on the 21-year-old's condition is not known at this time.

The crash is under investigation, according to OSHP.
