LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — The Lucas County Engineer's Office, Toledo-Lucas County Health Department and Toledo Driving Schools are teaming up to provide another roundabout training event later this month.

The engineer's office said the course will take drivers through seven roundabouts with an instructor, going over the do's and don'ts and different scenarios you might encounter when going through a roundabout. The practice route should take around 20-25 minutes and you will be accompanied by an instructor with Toledo Driving Schools, the engineer's office said.

Local law enforcement will also be at the event to help answer questions anyone may have. The engineer's office said the event will also offer informational handouts to take home and help you fill out a post-training survey.

The event will be held on Monday, July 22 at Timberstone Junior High at 9000 W. Sylvania Ave. in Sylvania from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with sign-in and instruction beginning in the parking lot of the school.

According to the engineer's office, the event has a limited number of spots available and requires you to sign up before the event HERE. Or you can call the engineer's office at 419-213-2855 to reserve a time slot.

"We helped over a dozen drivers with last year's event and it showed the community we are here to help those who truly want to learn how to drive them and not be afraid of them anymore," LCEO public information officer Michael Tatar said. "But we also learned people don't want the training wheels approach either and want to test and practice on the actual roundabouts on our roads, so that is what we are doing this year."
