COLUMBUS, Ohio — This year's "Disney on Ice" tour features three of Ohio's own as the shows took over Nationwide Arena this weekend.
"I'm so excited. It's nice being here in Ohio, which is my home and I have lots of friends and family coming so it's really exciting for me," said Dayton native Jessica Zink.
Jessica has been a part of "Disney on Ice" for the past four years and says getting to share the ice with her sister Jaynee makes it even more special.
The sisters say they're excited for their friends and family to be able to see the show.
"Each city is a different experience and you're just trying to connect with everybody and make sure everybody is having the most magical time ever. You never forget when you see someone's face light up," Jaynee said.
But these two sisters aren't the only Ohioans apart of the troupe.
Jenna Hertenstein, a Cincinnati native, is a newcomer to "Disney on Ice" and said she started skating when she was a little girl. She has competed in multiple ice skating events before joining "Disney on Ice" with her partner.
"My partner and I both really loved the performance aspect of skating and I think that made this experience even more special. We're really loving it," she said.
This year’s "Into The Magic" show features beloved Disney characters as Moana sets sail on a quest to save her island with help from the demigod Maui. Characters from “Frozen,” "Coco” and “Beauty and the Beast" also appear in the show.
