LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. — A 34-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot Tuesday evening in Lenawee County, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies said they responded to a residence in the 8000 block of E M 50 in Ridgeway Township around 6 p.m. for a report of a shooting.
According to the sheriff's office, a 50-year-old homeowner shot the 34-year-old from Van Buren Township after he allegedly let himself into the home and began assaulting the homeowner.
The sheriff's office said the injured 34-year-old left the area in a vehicle and was later located at a Toledo area hospital where he's in "critical but stable condition" after being shot once in the abdomen.
"The investigation is still ongoing, and awaiting additional information from all parties involved. This is an isolated incident, and no further threats to the public," the sheriff's office said in a press release Wednesday.
