TOLEDO, Ohio — The Anthony Dia Christmas Cruz returns for its fifth year to honor the fallen Toledo police officer.

The two-part event will take place on Sunday, Dec. 15, starting at Wheelin' on the Rocks located at 2640 W. Laskey Road. Those who attend can enjoy juice, cookies, gifts and have a chance to meet Santa.

The tow truck parade will then begin at 7:30 p.m., departing from Wheelin' on the Rocks and then making its way to the ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children's Hospital. Santa on his sleigh and friends will make their appearance at the tail end of the parade. Tow trucks interested in being in the parade can stage up at the Planet Fitness location near Wheelin' on the Rocks.

Children at the hospital will have a view of the parade as it circles around the hospital. Attendees are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys for the children at the hospital and/or pet supplies for the Lucas County Pit Crew.

For those who wish to donate but can not attend, donation boxes can be found on the event's Facebook page here.

"This event is a heartwarming way to remember Officer Dia and his commitment to our community," Dee Lynn, the event organizer said. "We hope to see everyone there, contributing to the spirit of giving this holiday season."
