Adrian prison performing emergency inmate count

ADRIAN, Mich. — Authorities are doing an emergency count of inmates at Gus Harrison Correctional Facility in Adrian.

A Michigan Department of Corrections spokesperson says some prisoners refused to return to their housing units on Tuesday afternoon. 

He acknowledged seeing "crazy rumors" on social media about prisoners escaping. But investigators say they believe everyone is back inside, and the emergency count is to make sure.
